Using PoolOps Offline
PoolOps works without internet connection - perfect for backyards with no signal, rural areas, or spotty coverage.
What Works Offline
When you have no internet, you can still:
- View your route - All stops are cached locally
- See customer details - Address, notes, gate codes
- Complete services - Enter readings, add chemicals
- Take photos - Captured locally
- Add notes - Saved on device
What Needs Internet
Some features require connection:
- Route optimization - Needs Mapbox API
- Navigation - Maps apps need data (or pre-downloaded)
- Sending reports - Queued until online
- Syncing changes - Background sync when connected
How Offline Mode Works
Automatic Detection
The app automatically:
- Detects when you lose connection
- Switches to offline mode
- Shows an offline indicator
- Continues working normally
Data Caching
When you have internet, the app caches:
- Today's and tomorrow's routes
- Customer information
- Recent service history
- Your preferences
Open the app while on WiFi before heading out - it will cache everything you need.
Automatic Sync
When connection returns:
- App detects internet
- Queued data syncs automatically
- Reports are sent
- Dashboard updates

Before Leaving Home
- Open the app on WiFi
- View your route (this caches it)
- Check that customers loaded
- Ensure app is updated
During the Day
- Don't worry about signal
- Complete services normally
- Photos save locally
- Everything syncs later
End of Day
- Connect to WiFi at home
- Open the app to trigger sync
- Verify all services synced
Troubleshooting
Data Not Syncing
If data isn't syncing when you have internet:
- Pull down to refresh
- Check that you're truly connected
- Force close and reopen the app
- Log out and back in
Missing Customer Data
If a customer's info didn't cache:
- You can still complete basic service
- Add notes about what you did
- Full details appear when synced
The app prioritizes today's route for caching to minimize issues.
Offline Storage
The app uses your device storage:
