Protect your business data with these security best practices.
Password Security
Create a Strong Password
Your password should have:
- At least 8 characters (12+ recommended)
- Mix of uppercase and lowercase letters
- Numbers and special characters
- Nothing easily guessed (not "password123")
Don't Reuse Passwords
Use a unique password for PoolOps that you don't use elsewhere.
Consider using a password manager like 1Password or LastPass.
Change Password Regularly
Update your password every 6-12 months:
- Go to Settings > Account > Change Password
- Enter your current password
- Create a new password
- Save changes
Device Security
Lock Your Phone
- Use a PIN, pattern, or biometric lock
- Set auto-lock to 1-2 minutes
- Enable "Find My Device" features
Log Out on Shared Devices
If using a shared device:
- Always log out when done
- Don't save passwords in the browser
- Clear browser data after use
Team Security (Team Plan)
Manage Access Carefully
- Only invite trusted team members
- Remove techs when they leave
- Review team member list regularly
Technician Permissions
Technicians have limited access:
- Can only see assigned customers
- Cannot access billing information
- Cannot delete customers
