Keep your PoolOps account secure

Account Security Tips

Protect your business data with these security best practices.

Password Security

Create a Strong Password

Your password should have:

  • At least 8 characters (12+ recommended)
  • Mix of uppercase and lowercase letters
  • Numbers and special characters
  • Nothing easily guessed (not "password123")

Don't Reuse Passwords

Use a unique password for PoolOps that you don't use elsewhere.

Consider using a password manager like 1Password or LastPass.

Change Password Regularly

Update your password every 6-12 months:

  1. Go to Settings > Account > Change Password
  2. Enter your current password
  3. Create a new password
  4. Save changes

Device Security

Lock Your Phone

  • Use a PIN, pattern, or biometric lock
  • Set auto-lock to 1-2 minutes
  • Enable "Find My Device" features

Log Out on Shared Devices

If using a shared device:

  1. Always log out when done
  2. Don't save passwords in the browser
  3. Clear browser data after use

Team Security (Team Plan)

Manage Access Carefully

  • Only invite trusted team members
  • Remove techs when they leave
  • Review team member list regularly

Technician Permissions

Technicians have limited access:

  • Can only see assigned customers
  • Cannot access billing information
  • Cannot delete customers

If You Suspect a Breach

Take Immediate Action

  1. Change your password immediately
  2. Review recent activity
  3. Contact support@poolops.app
  4. Check for unauthorized team members
